About Author

Monica Prendergast is an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences at Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her numerous journal publication credits include an award-winning essay in Research in Drama Education, as well as articles in Theatre Topics, the Journal of Aesthetic Education, Qualitative Inquiry, and the International Journal of Education and the Arts. Chapters contributions appear in the International Handbook of Research in Arts Education (coauthored with Dr. Carl Leggo) and Drama as Social Intervention, and a poetic preface appears in Ethnodrama: An Anthology of Reality Theatre. Her forthcoming book publication is a co-edited collection; Poetic Inquiry: Vibrant Voices in the Social Sciences. Dr. Prendergast’s research interests include drama/theatre education and applied theatre, curriculum and critical pedagogy, performance studies, aesthetic and utopian philosophy, arts-based research methodologies, and cultural literacy.
