About Author

Femi James Kolapo is associate professor of African history at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Kolapo earned his PhD from York University, Toronto and his MA and BA degrees from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in education from ABU Zaria. He is coeditor of The Aftermath of Slavery: Transitions and Transformations in Southeastern Nigeria (Trenton, NJ: Africa World Press, 2007) and African Agency and European Colonialism: Latitudes of Negotiations and Containment (Lanham, MD: University Press of America, 2007).
