About Author

Esther Rowlands holds a PhD in French and critical theory from the University of Nottingham and a BA (Hons) in French from the University of Liverpool. Dr. Rowlands is the author of Redefining Resistance: The Wartime Discourses of Francis Ponge, Benjamin Péret, Henri Michaux and Antonin Artaud. She has also published articles relating to postmodernism, surrealism, and resistance in French literature and cinema.
