About Author

Marcia E. Facey is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, Canada. She holds an MSc and a PhD in public health sciences from the University of Toronto and a BA (Hons) in sociology from York University. Her research foci include contingent/precarious work and health, unconventional workplaces, the work and health of health care workers, the role of unions in occupational health and safety, and the application of critical social theories these issues. Dr. Facey has published in journals such as the Canadian Journal of Public Health, Social Theory & Health, and Health & Place.
