About Author
Dr. Stephen Coleman has had a long career in academic and public policy research for the state of Minnesota and subsequently as a professor and director of the Center for Applied Research and Policy Analysis at Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, Minnesota. He has received several national awards for his work, which extends from political science to sociology, criminal justice, program evaluation, education, and biometrics. He also worked as a mathematician before receiving his doctorate in political science from the University of Minnesota. In addition to journal and government publications, he is the author of Measurement and Analysis of Political Systems (Wiley) and co-author, with Roger Benjamin, Alan Arian, and Richard Blue, of Patterns of Political Development: Japan, India, Israel (McKay).
