About Author

Wai-ki E. Luk is Senior Researcher at the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government. He earned his PhD from Oxford University; his MPhil and BA from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining the Government, Dr. Luk was Research Fellow at the Department of Public and Social Administration of the City University of Hong Kong, where he also served as part-time Lecturer. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers). His current interests are urban decay, poverty and deprived neighbourhoods, and social mobility and spatial segregation.
