Brett A. Barnett is Assistant Professor of Communication at the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He teaches public speaking, broadcast announcing, and a variety of media production courses, including video production, television news and field production, as well as television news and studio production. Dr. Barnett earned his PhD from Bowling Green State University, his MA from the University of Akron, and his BA from Ohio State University. He has worked in the television and video industries and his research interests include hate speech, Internet studies, First Amendment law, and the rhetoric of music.
