FFPM Fikambanana Fiangonana Protestante eto Madagasikara, or the National Council of Protestant Churches of Madagascar.
FJKM Fiangonan’i Jesoa Kristy eto Madagasikara, or the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar, the successor body of the LMS mission. A federated denomination founded in 1950, it is the largest Protestant church on the island, and Merina people are predominant in its membership.
FLM Fiangonana Loterana Malagasy, or the Malagasy Lutheran Church; founded by the NMS, the second largest Protestant body on the island, particularly strong in the southern highlands and in the southeast.
Ha Hectare; a term of land measurement denoting ten thousand square meters.
LCMS Lutheran Church Missouri Synod; another U.S.-based Lutheran body that has begun sending missionaries and money to the FLM in recent years. The LCMS does not ordain women, which is one point of departure for them from the practice of the ELCA and the LWF, and an issue of controversy presently in the ways the two Lutheran denominations continue to be in mission with the FLM.
