Finally, during research for the book, I conducted interviews with a number of leading intersex activists and scholars, including Alice Domurat Dreger, Betsy Driver, Cheryl Chase, Emi Koyoma, and Lynnell Stephani Long. Their passion is inspiring. All in their own right have had an important role to play in shaping and changing intersex discourse. They have stood up to make sure that the voices of so many others can be heard. I acknowledge them as much as I dedicate this book to them. By any means necessary, when often traditional means were not as easily available, they have critiqued the truth, and in that critiquing, online and off, they have changed what that truth means.
