Acknowledgments
The idea for this collection grew out of several conversations following the international Irresponsibility & Literature conference that was held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2006. These conversations remain as anchors to this collection. The conference was co-funded by NTU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Singapore, and Culture Ireland, the cultural wing of the Irish Dept. of Foreign Affairs. Peter Ryan, then of the Embassy of Ireland, Singapore, played a major part in the organization and facilitation of the conference, for which we give many, many thanks.
