Palestine. The basic issues are political weakness and the disagreements over substance. The procedural issues are the roles of the international community and the United States as well as the nature of negotiations. Each issue has obvious responses and outside-of-the-box responses. The current situation holds the key to the promise of a better future for Israel. Israel will not survive without a viable Palestinian state alongside it. It is in Israel's utmost interest to make that happen. For that, what is needed is a multifaceted strategic approach that also highlights the dangers of what will happen if a two-state solution does not get implemented. We need to persist, especially now that time is short. I suggest that every time we feel like giving up, we need to give one more try. If we do not succeed soon, we are going to have to rethink the whole process. We must place our energy into creating solutions that can start being implemented today. It is time for one final, very sophisticated push for a two-state solution because our future depends on it.
