Richard and Sarah Howells have made it possible for me to make this study complete.

Dr. K. D. Verma of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown has stayed interested in my life and work these past twenty-five years. It is to him that I owe my love of the Victorian period and Rossetti.

Jan Marsh and Kim Morrissey were particularly kind to me in sharing their knowledge of Rossetti and their works.

I am particularly indebted to my parents, Edward and Joanne Dallape, for their love and interest in Rossetti and my work.

My Tuesday afternoon knitting class at Knit 1 sustained this work through their interest, friendship, and camaraderie.

To Cambria Press, especially Paul Richardson, Toni Tan, and Nicole Ford; they were wonderful to work with, and I owe them my thanks.

Finally, I would like to thank Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, my academic home while I have been working on this project, especially Dr. Edward (Ted) Nichols, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs; Ms. Erica Reighard, Associate Dean of Instruction; Ms. Mary Ann Lee, Academic Instruction Secretary; and Penny Stevens, Assistant to the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs. Working with them has been a delight, and their interest in my work has inspired me to complete it.
