films and migration documentaries in the post-war era. Their research findings are very important foundations to the study of the post-war migration documentary films. Projecting Australia: Government Film Since 1945 (Moran, 1991), Government and Film in Australia (Bertrand & Collins, 1981), and Australian Post-war Documentary Film: An Arc of Mirrors (D. Williams, 2008) are three of the most comprehensive publications dealing with the history of the Australian Government Film Unit and specific migration documentary films. Moran (1987, 1989a, 1989b) published widely on issues related to the post-war migration documentary films. Bertrand (1999a, 1999b) also provided further studies on Stanley Hawes and the Commonwealth Film Unit (CFU). For more detailed case studies, the
