between indigenous knowledge and the knowledge-base of the university. By integrating the land-grant model's important element of extension, the partnership connected local coffee farmers and producers to the Faculty of Agriculture at the Université Nationale du Rwanda (UNR), thus extending a channel for knowledge flow between the university and the agricultural community. Project statistics show that large numbers of farmers and their families benefited significantly from an improved standard of living as a result of this undertaking.
The closing chapter of this study synthesizes and summarizes the findings and includes a set of policy recommendations that address some ways higher education can serve the goal of poverty reduction in international development. Finally, suggestions for future research include concerns that must be addressed because as the changing global economy continues to exhibit new problems, new knowledge is needed to solve such problems.
