However for place names that are not commonly known in English we have used macrons; for example Thoku, Kysh, Kchi and Ybari, so that readers might know their pronunciation a little more clearly. However, there are a small number of exceptions to the basic approach we have adopted here, for various reasons particular to those cases. For all other prose, such as the names of laws and titles of books and articles, we have used macrons.
