About the Author
Having trained as a singer at Leeds Music Centre, Yorkshire, and at London’s Royal College of Music, Jennifer Lanipekun was also a teacher of music and dance. In addition to a BEd(Hons) and MA, she holds a PhD from the Institute of Education, University of London. Dr. Lanipekun has presented her research at universities and international conferences, including Cambridge University; Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester; Institute of Neurology, UCL, London; and at the National Opera Association Annual Conference, New York. She cofounded the Images Dance and Theatre Company in London and was also its artistic director. Her work has been published in journals, such as The Opera Journal and the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, and she has coauthored several baseline studies for the British National Singing Programme.
