Pham points out that “although the learning of the Vietnamese and the Chinese is the same, [our respective] pronunciations [of the written words] are different.” He goes on to say that Dang’s effort to communicate the ideas of the Yijing by means of verse and in national pronunciation has succeeded in creating a version of the classic that is both accessible to Vietnamese students and easy to learn through chanting.68
