So too have been, in whole or in part, nearly every premier since the 1932 revolution. Some, like Chuan Leek pai, are plainly and simply Chinese in ethnicity—but Thai in identity. So too is the controversial Thaksin Shinawatra. It may seem confusing to those outside—but no longer to the Thai themselves.
