Acknowledgments

Now that the writing of the book is complete, I am faced with a task that is by no means easy to fulfil. I thank the Heavenly Father for revealing to me a talent and gift of scholarship. I would also like to thank my dear wife, Dr. Judith M. Mvula-Mwenda, and my adorable son, Joseph T.K. Mwenda II, for their unfailing love and support.

Further, I would like to acknowledge the inspiration that I have received from my dear parents, the late Mr. Joseph T. Mwenda and Mrs. Esther M. Mwenda. They both hold a very special place in my heart. My father, who crossed over in August of 2003, was a great pillar of intellectual strength and wisdom. A great role model, he will be dearly missed. To my dear mother, I thank her, too, for being a good parent that she has always been. May the good Lord strengthen her and give her courage to soldier on.

I cannot stop without thanking my many good friends, including other family members, and professional colleagues whose names, if I were to list them all, would occupy a whole chapter in this book. I thank them all for their support and friendship over the years. I am also grateful to Professor Mpazi Sinjela, Director of the Worldwide Academy of the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland, for honouring this book with a Foreword.
