- B: Who would have guessed it would take this long? I thought at most we would get there in about a week or a month. If you know when we'll get to the place, please tell me.

D: (To B.) I thought you must know so I didn't even bother asking the captain. Stop pretending to be in the dark and please let me know.

B: (To A.) Do you know?
- A: It's the same case here, I have no idea.
- B: I don't know how many years it has been since we got on this ship.
- D: Have we gone one tenth of the way? If not, one hundredth of the way?

A: (Irritated.) Who knows? It could be that we are at one thousandth of the way or we are almost there and tomorrow we could land at the port.
(A, B, C, and D are silent. E flips her hands but stops.)

D: (To A.) Did they say this ship is headed to New Land of Desire?
- A: Yes. I'm sure it's going to New Land of Desire. That's what the captain said and if not, why did we get on this ship?
- B: That's right. We're headed there, that's for sure.
- D: New Land of Desire, oh, a beautiful paradise! Cursed be the one who says this ship is not headed there!

A & B: (Together.) Cursed be the one!
- D: Cursed be the one! Will New Land of Desire really be a paradise?
- A & B: Cursed be the one!

D: (He becomes baffled but suddenly screams in a choked voice.) Cursed be the one!
- A & B: Who is cursed?
(A, B, C, & D are silent. E tries flipping her hands but stops.)
