S. Sonya Gwak is the associate director for Student Affairs and Advising at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a PhD from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania in education, culture, and society. She has taught a variety of courses at the University of Pennsylvania, including Multicultural Issues in Education and Asian American Studies.
