Tamara S. Wagner is assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University and obtained her PhD from Cambridge University. Her books include Longing: Narratives of Nostalgia in the British Novel, 1740–1890 (2004), Occidentalism in Novels of Malaysia and Singapore, 1819–2004 (2005), and Consuming Culture in the Long Nineteenth-Century: Narratives of Consumption, 1700–1900 (2007, co-edited with Narin Hassan). She has also edited special issues on silver-fork fiction and the Victorian Orient. Wagner’s current projects include a study of financial speculation in Victorian literature, entitled Speculation in Victorian Fiction: Plotting Money and the Novel Genre, 1815–1901, and a guest-edited special issue on Charlotte Yonge for Women’s Writing. Her articles have appeared in Victorian Literature and Culture, Victorians Institute Journal, Victorian Review, Modern Language Quarterly, Critique, and Women’s Writing.
