This chapter introduces the core research problems and then outlines the path through which the conclusions of the book are reached. In the next section, a general background to the research is provided, while the research problems and contentions are outlined. Following a justification of the research, a transdisciplinary analytical framework and a holistic methodology are proposed. Finally, an outline of the book is provided at the end of the chapter.
