Tian Shi is a policy analyst at the Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA), Adelaide, Australia, where he works in areas of sustainable forest policy and strategy as well as industry development and management. He holds a PhD from University of New England (UNE), Armidale, Australia, and an MSc and a BSc from Hubei University, Wuhan, China. Dr. Shi has been a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan, China; a visiting research scholar at the Centre for Ecological Economics and Water Policy Research, UNE; a post-doctoral research fellow at the Policy and Economic Research Unit, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) Land and Water Division, Adelaide, Australia; as well as a senior economist at the Corporate Strategy and Policy Branch, PIRSA. His work has been published in journals, such as Ecological Economics, the International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Ecology, the Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics, the Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Water Management, Water Policy, and the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Dr. Shi was also the key note speaker at the Inaugural Australian Water Trading Summit 2004 and the Australian Water Summit 2005.
