Hume Johnson is an assistant professor of communication at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. She holds a PhD in political science and public policy from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, a Masters of Science and Bachelors of Arts degrees from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. She has published on civil society and governance issues in several journals including Political Studies, International Journal of Media and Cultural Politics, and Crime Prevention and Community Safety. Dr. Johnson is also a recognized broadcast journalist and political commentator.
