Philip Effiong is an adjunct associate professor of English at the University of Maryland and the director of academic research at the Africa Society in Washington, DC. He holds a PhD in dramatic literature from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has taught English, writing, drama, literature, and cultural studies at the University of Calabar in Nigeria. In the United States, Effiong has taught at the University of Wisconsin–Madison; the University of Tennessee, Martin; the University of Delaware; and Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. In addition to a text on African American drama and a novel, Monty, Effiong has authored several articles on African and African American literature and culture that have appeared in periodicals.

Mary-Noelle Ethel Ezeh holds a PhD in the history of religions from Paris Sorbonne University (Paris IV), France. She is currently a senior lecturer at Anambra State University, Uli, Nigeria. She has published many articles and five books, one of which is titled The History and Contribution of Catholic Evangelization to Development in Nigeria, 1868–1967 (Pontifical Mission Societies Publications, 2007). Ezeh is a member of the Religious Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, Nigeria.

Chima J. Korieh is an associate professor of African history at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds a PhD in African history from the University of Toronto, Canada. He was a British Academy Visiting Fellow at Oxford University in 2008. Dr. Korieh has authored many articles and essays in journals, books, and encyclopedias, including The Land Has Changed: History, Society and Gender in Colonial Eastern Nigeria (University of Calgary Press, 2010). He is the founder and editor of Mbari: The International Journal of Igbo Studies and the managing editor of Ofo: Journal of Transatlantic Studies.
