About Author

Lindsay R. Calhoun is a visiting professor at Northern Illinois University. Prior to this appointment, she taught at George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. She holds a PhD in communication theory and research from the University of Utah and a master's degree in international and intercultural communication from the University of Denver. Dr. Calhoun has published in journals such as The Howard Journal of Communication, Text and Performance Quarterly, and The Chinese Journal of Communication.
