About Author

Dr. Pellegrino Nazzaro is Professor of European History in the College of Liberal Arts at the Rochester Institute of Technology. For several years Dr. Nazzaro taught Crime and Violence and Comparative Criminal Law in the School of Criminal Justice. Dr. Nazzaro holds a B.A. in the Humanities from the Liceo Classico “Pietro Giannone” of Benevento (1951) and a Ph.D. in Jurisprudence (Law and History) from the University Federico II of Naples (1956).

Dr. Nazzaro has served on the Executive Council of the American-Italian Historical Association and was a member of the European Community Studies Association (ECSA) and of the American Historical Association.

Dr. Nazzaro has done extensive scholarly research in national and international archives in the Archivio Centrale dello Stato of Rome, in the Archivio della Sapienza of Rome, in the Secret Archives of the Vatican, in The Library of the Vatican; in The Office of the Extraordinary Affairs of the State of the Vatican and at The John F. Kennedy Library in Boston, among others.

Dr. Nazzaro has published over forty scholarly essays in national and international journals, including Storia Contemporanea and Affari Sociali Internazionali (directed by the late Prof.Renzo De Felice, the internationally acclaimed authority on Fascism), Journal of European Economic History, Rivista di Studi Politici Internazionali, Labor History, Encyclopedia International Grolie and Current History.
