We must enhance the understanding that violence crosses the species barrier and is a serious societal problem. We must come to the realization that each of us is responsible for responding appropriately to societal violence, regardless of its form, regardless of its victim. Only once we accept these notions will society be equipped to work towards the eradication of violence in all its forms. I join in Lisa's enthusiasm and commitment in writing this book, and to the victims, both human and animal, especially those not yet discovered. This research has undoubtedly moved us one step closer to unraveling the complexity of the cruelty link.
